The Atlantic ocean vegetation is dominated by dwarf palmetto and sabal palms. On this picture you see the dwarf palmetto (Sabal Minor). The palm is native to the Southeastern US. It is the cold hardiest dwarf palm in the world. Because the sabal minor hides the trunk underground, the palm can survive freezing cold.
